Fujifilm Wireless Bluetooth Remote
I guess you’re here to get a Fujifilm compatible wireless remote?
I did not make the item or the software and to be honest I did not want to take the financial risk to make a remote when Fujifilm could just blow me out of the water in minutes by changing some code via firmware or by bringing out their own remote.
This page will show you where you can source the device from but you will need to add some software to your computer and download some firmware to the device once you get it via Usbc data cable
The device does NOT have a lanyard attachment point but one can easily be attached via some modification
FYI if you are feeling thankful for this as I spent an age sorting it then I’d love a small donation at Buy me a coffee…. If not then no big deal
N.B Beware of camera updates it may stop this device from working ! I have no control over Fujiifilm updates etc
Thanks in advance
Why is this a thing?
I shoot a lot of seascape images and hate having to use a cable release to get the wave timing right and no I don’t want to get my expensive iPhone out when I am in a dangerous situation for obvious reasons and lets be honest the Fujifilm app is trash
I searched high and low for a remote trigger that did not need a transmitter as the camera already has it built in, I mean how hard can it be right?
Turns out nearly impossible!
So I finally got hold of a thing, this orange geek box that is some kind of mini computer that someone made software that enables it to be a trigger….
So I bought a few and after some fun modifications I now have various iterations that suit me
My issues with the original:
No lanyard attachment point
Too many water ingress points
My Changes / iterations
Filled all holes with a plastic filler
Added lanyard points in various versions, random spare cable loop, using moldable glue and fix stick mouldable plastic to make lanyard points
Sanded smooth
Primed
Painted with spare paint
All done by my 10 year old and they came out pretty well in my biased opinion
1 Is original un modified
2 Is First version, aka the chunky ugly one where we forgot primer, didn’t sand and didn’t seal either. It looks kind of cool now
3 Is the first good version that he used a spare apple SIM card removal tool to make a lanyard point
4 Army green… This is my daily driver and also has a good lanyard point that’s a spare nest camera cable clip modified and glued into the grove port and all holes sealed and painted
5 Smooth black version with spare rubber part for a lanyard point
6 Lazy orange with just mouldable plastic inserted into the grove port for a lanyard point.
N.B I have only tested on a Mac, because I don’t own a pc obviously
Cameras I have tested on are…
Gfx100s. Gfx50sii, Xh2s, Xe4, X100v, X pro 3, Xt4
It should work on any Fujifilm camera that has bluetooth but I am not sure, please let me know results with any others.
